About Me

EDrews Headshot

I am a native Charlestonian (a rarity) and a fourth generation Kuhne-Drews. Recently, I have managed to turn my life upside down, for the better. I quit my job, renovated the home that my great grandparents built in 1915, and began a journey that I never imagined.  I hope that my stories inspire you to discover new adventures and try something new and bold and completely transformative.

RenovatingCharleston began with the journey of renovating my 100 year old family home that was in great disrepair.  It has evolved into the stories about Charleston from a local’s perspective.  It is about the people and places, the hidden gems, that make up historic Charleston, one of the best cities in world.

I hope that through my journey you are inspired to discover yourself, your city, your next adventure.
Cheers!

Hello would you mind letting me know which web host you’re working
with? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different internet browsers and I
must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most.
Can you recommend a good hosting provider at a honest price?
    Thanks a lot, I appreciate it! http://bing.net

Great blog! So wonderful to see what you’ve done with your great-grandparents’ home ~ my husband and I are slowly but surely renovating my late mother’s West Ashley home.
BTW, did you grow up on James Island or in West Ashley, as I went to school with some Drewses :)
    Thanks for posting!

I did grow up on James Island! My Daddy was Rupie Drews – the football coach in the 60’s. Good luck with your project! Thanks!
